Monthly Meeting of Mountain Lodge No 766

Mountain Lodge No. 766 F & M, Spencer will meet the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. (behind the Burritt Memorial Library Building). All Master Masons are invited.

Assistant D.A. Schedules Meetings in VBC

Assistant D.A. Randall Gilliam will be at the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department every second and fourth Thursday after General Sessions Court (after the lunch hour) until 4 p.m. He will be available to answer or assist with any criminal issues or procedures.

American Legion Post 207 Meeting in Spencer

The American Legion Post 207 meets every 3 rd Thursday of the month at 6 p. in the Spencer Civic Center. All veterans are invited. For more information, please call 686-7759.

Fundraiser Supper & Auction

A Taco Salad supper with dessert and drink, $5.00 per person and auction will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, in the Spencer Civic Center with all proceeds going to Van Buren County High School 2010 Project Graduation. Any volunteers or class members who can assist with this fundraiser are asked to call 931-409-2568 or 931-815-8511. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Van Buren Co. Rescue Unit Breakfast

The Van Buren County Rescue Unit will be holding a breakfast on March 20, 2010, in the Spencer Civic Center starting at 6:00 a.m. serving sausage, bacon, eggs, gravy and biscuits with all the fixings. Come out and support your local Rescue Unit!

SevenDaze Coming to Park

SevenDaze, a contemporary Christian Praise Band will be performing at the Fall Creek Falls State Park Recreation Hall on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 7 p.m. Everyone welcome. Admission is free.

UCHRA Van Buren County Head Start Enrollment

Enroll NOW for the UCHRA Van Buren County Head Start!! VBC Head Start actively recruits children regardless of race, color, creed, sex, national origin or disabling conditions. Children can start in August 2010 if they are 3 by Oct. 1, or on their 3rd birthday! FREE benefits include nationally and state accredited educational and developmental programs and activities, nutritional meals and snacks, family activities, Parent and Community trainings and educational classes, social services for parents/guardians, medical and routine dental services, and other health services and resources. You will need to furnish your child's birth certificate, social security numbers for all household members, proof of income (W2 or pay stub), insurance card and immunization record. Country Ham Breakfast

There will be a Country Ham Breakfast served at Fall Creek Falls Fire Department on Saturday, April 3, 2010, beginning at 6 a.m. Plates are $6 each and include gravy, biscuit, eggs, country ham, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, coffee, milk, OJ, soft drinks. All profit will go to updating equipment. Donations greatly appreciated.

Revival at Copeland Chapel Church

There will be a revival at Copeland Chapel Church on April 5, Monday – Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. Preaching nightly with Brother Mike McCoy. Everyone welcome. Soul Healing Love

Cedar Grove Easter Egg Hunt

There will be an Easter Egg Hunt at the Cedar Grove Community Center on Saturday, April 3 for 3 age groups. Refreshments will be served.

Relay for Life Benefit Breakfast

There will be a Relay for Life Benefit Breakfast at Cedar Grove Community Center on Country ham, tenderloin with all the trimmings. Adults $6, children $2.50. Yard and Bake Sale also from 7 a.m, – 2 p.m. on April 10, 2010. Anyone wishing to make a donation will be greatly appreciated.

Senior Citizens Center Hosting Chili Supper

The Van Buren County Senior Citizens will host a Chili Supper at the Center on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Supper will be served form 6 – 7 p.m. Menu consists of chili or chili dog, dessert and drink. Cost is $5. The Van Buren Ramblers and guests will provide the entertainment. The center is located behind the Health Department at 779 Old McMinnville Street in Spencer. We invite everyone to attend and enjoy the good food and great entertainment.
